    Oct 01, 2021

Thanksgiving is the perfect occasion to gather with your loved ones and truly remember what is important in life: family, lasting memories, good food and great wine.

We know how hard it can be to find that perfect wine pairing for the Thanksgiving holiday.  As your one-stop shop for everything wine, we wanted to make it easy for you this year by providing you with our recommended wine pairings.

Here is a quick and easy guide to the perfectly paired Thanksgiving day feast.

Best Wine Pairings for Thanksgiving Dinner:

Having a Thanksgiving dinner full of many rich flavours along with a wine pairing can be a difficult task. Our thoughts of course are the more wine the better, but having a bit of an idea of what will pair best is a good place to start.

Upon arrival, the best way to welcome your guests is to have a nice glass of our 2020 Sparkling White ready for them. Not only is this a great way to start the meal, but also a great wine to drink while you are prepping away in the kitchen. And if the turkey is giving you a bit of trouble, we won’t judge you for pouring an extra glass or two.

Here are a few additional wine pairings to consider:

    • 2019 Sauvignon Blanc: This is a great wine to open in the evening. If you are starting with appetizers, such as a charcuterie board, baked brie, or even a harvest salad, 2019 sauvignon blanc will be the perfect bottle of wine. The bright acidity of this white wine will pair well with any heavy cheeses.
    • 2018 Unoaked Chardonnay: A delicate yet bold wine that will be perfect with stuffing and homemade baked buns.
    • 2020 Hush Rose: A Thanksgiving dinner must-have. Turkey and cranberry sauce with 2020 Hush Rose is the perfect pairing.
    • 2020 Gamay: We have a special treat for our blog readers this month. We have released a small lot 2020 Gamay that is only available at the wine shop, and to our wine club members. This holiday must-have is also available in our Thanksgiving Day 6 pack for all blog readers. This beautifully juicy Gamay will be this year's show stopper. Turkey smothered in gravy, sweet potato casserole, or a beautiful roasted squash dish will all go very well.
    • 2018 Merlot: Lastly, for the big bold red wine lovers out there, the 2018 Merlot is going to compliment the whole meal. In this well-structured wine, you will find notes of black cherry and vanilla with a slight bit of spice on the finish. Try this wine with lasagna and roasted mushrooms. A little secret is? This Merlot will go very well with some pumpkin pie as well!
