Tasting Notes:
With aromas of blueberry jam, hickory & a hint of rose, this full bodied wine exhibits flavors of black cherry, dark plum, & vanilla. You’ll find balanced hints of barrel spice & leather on the finish.
Winemaker Notes:
100% Merlot. A staff favourite, Merlot from BC displays character, acid, & punch
comparative to its Californian counterparts. The Merlot is sourced from some of the warmest vineyards in Canada in Osoyoos. The fruit arrives typically over the course of several days in October, and our winemaker’s assess each lot & choose select fermentation techniques & yeast depending on the fruit’s characteristics. We aim for dark, rich, purply fruit that has enough acid & tannin to support an extensive oak program lasting 18 months. We use a blend of French & American oak barrels, always aiming for about 30% new barrels.
Food Pairing Notes:
Spaghetti Bolognese, beef bourguignon or farmer’s sausage.
