Our Team
Meet the people that keep Dirty Laundry Winery running all year round!

Mason Spink - Winemaker
Growing up in Victoria B.C., I was bitten by the wine bug early in life and moved to Ontario to study winemaking. After completing my Bachelor of Science degree in Oenology and Viticulture, with honors, at the Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute at Brock University in St. Catharines Ontario, I moved back to B.C. I joined the winemaking team at See Ya Later Ranch, as the assistant winemaker and was quickly promoted to winemaker, where I held that position for seven vintages. Just before the start of the 2013 vintage, I joined the Dirty Laundry Winery team. After a challenging vintage, the cellar team performed extremely well and I am always excited to release the exceptional wines DLW has to offer.

Chris Remington - Assistant Winemaker
I joined the Dirty Laundry team in February 2020, as I was looking for a change after 25 years opening restaurants and running kitchens. The wine industry has been challenging, but also very rewarding to be part of. My wife and I moved to the Okanagan 20 years ago and have raised our family here. We have two fantastic children, one currently at Thompson Rivers University and the other finishing up high school. Outside of work, I coach the Junior Harlequin Rugby Program, as well as the rugby team at Penticton High School. I also enjoy camping, fishing, and spending as much time outdoors as possible. My favourite wines at DLW are our Riesling and Bordello.

Luke Shawyer - Lead Cellar Hand
Luke Shawyer is the Lead Cellar Hand at Dirty Laundry Winery, working closely with the winemaking team to guide each vintage from grape to glass. With a strong attention to detail and a passion for the craft, Luke oversees daily cellar operations including fermentation, barrel work, and blending preparation. Born and raised in Penticton and with education and experience from Okanagan College leading to stints at Little Engine and Red Rooster, Luke is excited to be working his 4th season with DLW. Luke takes pride in helping create wines that reflect both the region and the dedication of the team behind them.

Paul Sawler - Vice President & General Manager
I have had the privilege of working with this great team for the past 10 years as VP of Sales and Marketing. My role encompasses external sales, E-commerce, marketing, branding, and strategic planning. My goal is to ensure that every visitor to our tasting room or website has a memorable experience and that our wines are available to our customers where they are and when they need it.
It is fulfilling for me to work with such a dedicated team who share our vision and passion.

Lisa Marie Ritchat - Sales Manager
I went to school for Business Tourism Management at Thompson Rivers University and spent 15 years in the restaurant industry, progressing from server and bartender to General Manager. I decided to leave the Kootenays and relocate to the Okanagan in pursuit of work in the wine industry. For the past 6 years, I have been with DLW full time where I started as the Okanagan Sales Rep and progressed to the Sales Manager. I love to collaborate and lend my extensive experience to improve customer satisfaction in all areas of the winery. My passion for wine and food is matched by my love for cooking and gardening, reflecting my dedication to quality and excellence in all areas of my life.
Megan McKay Hall - marketing manager
As a long-time wine lover and with a deep-rooted background in sales, marketing and hospitality, I absolutely love storytelling and magical connection it brings to the world of wine. Having over 2 decades of sales and customer management experience across all categories – spirits, craft beer, refreshment and wine – I always get a thrill linking my passions for imbibing in delicious beverage and sharing the stories that go along with them. WSET and Cicerone trained and a strong believer in liquid to lips - coupled with pushing the agenda that an oaked Chardonnay pairs beautifully with every dish and occasion on the planet - I am looking forward to working with Dirty Laundry Winery’s award-winning portfolio and exceptional team.

Alia Etchison-Bone - Marketing & E-Commerce Coordinator
I have been with DLW for 8 years now! I started in the tasting room pouring wine at the tasting bar. I was quickly promoted to Wineshop Supervisor, then became the Wineshop Assistant Manager and Patio Manager. Now I am our Marketing and Ecommerce Coordinator, assisting with our wine club communication. I am also our new Social Media Manager. I have had many roles at DLW and if you have visited the winery, we have likely crossed paths! A few fun facts about myself, I love sports. I have been playing ringette for 21 years and I coach ringette as well; I have been doing so for 11 years. I also love animals and have a few pups of my own! I absolutely love to travel and the furthest place I've traveled to is Japan! I look forward to seeing and meeting you all! -Cheers!

karen Coburn - Wine Club Coordinator
I grew up in a wonderful coastal town in England and have been blessed to call Canada my home for the last 20 years. I am married with a teenage daughter in High School. I joined Dirty Laundry Winery in September 2024 as their Wine Club Coordinator. I have been privileged throughout my career to have worked in various industries in both the UK and Canada, gaining extensive experience in sales, hospitality and customer service.
I love to travel and enjoy the outdoors, whether it is lake life here in the beautiful Okanagan or skiing in one of our local ski resorts! I also have a love of food and wine, and like nothing better than good food, good wine and good company!

Adrian Smits - Warehouse Manager
I’ve been in the wine business since 2003 as a winemaker, in sales, as well as shipping wine. I have been at Dirty Laundry since 2012. I ship your wine to you and make sure our outside warehouses are stocked up, as well as anything else my coworkers might need help with. I occasionally assist in the cellar during bottling and I make sure the beer is full on the patio in the summer months. Some of my interests are gardening, biking, photography, brewing beer and skiing. My favorite beverages are Riesling, Cab Sav and a great craft beer.
Cheers!

Kristen thurlin - hospitality manager
I have been with DLW since 2015 when I started as a tasting room associate. In my tenure at Dirty Laundry, there have been many exciting changes, which I have enjoyed witnessing. From watching the portfolio grow with many award-winning wines under Mason Spink, the addition of an outside tasting bar & beer bar, opening a kitchen with an Italian forno oven, then starting a smoked meat menu. In 2020 after wearing many different hats I became the Wine Shop Manager. If you have visited in the summer then you know how beautifully crazy it is here at DLW. My favorite thing that I love about DLW is my team, which is always changing and evolving into a better version than before.

Angel- Assistant Hospitality Manager
Recently made a proud Canadian, I traded a career in retail leadership, visual presentation, and sales management for a slower, more meaningful life in the Okanagan, embracing the calm and beauty of wine country. I’m a mom to two wonderful kids, wife to a devoted husband, and happiest during quiet mornings with coffee in hand, watching the sunrise, spotting hummingbirds outside the window, or sneaking in a peaceful walk with our two Australian Shepherds.
Wine has become part of my own full-circle story. My very first wine tasting experience was at Dirty Laundry Winery while celebrating my 50th birthday. What began as a memorable celebration eventually transformed into a role I’m truly proud of, helping manage the tasting room and wine shoppe today. Now, I have the joy of creating that same warmth, laughter, and unforgettable experience for every guest who walks through our doors.

Becky Marte - Director Of Finance
I joined the Dirty Laundry team in late 2025, bringing over a decade of accounting experience in the wine industry. After completing my Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting, I went on to earn my CPA designation. I’m passionate about the wine industry and take pride in supporting the team behind the scenes through accurate, thoughtful financial work.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me at the rink with one of my two children, or out for a run enjoying the beautiful region we’re lucky to call home.

Suzie Quigley - Accounts Payable & Inventory Coordinator
New Paragraph

Carol Jessop - Account Receivable
I moved to Summerland 10 years ago from Edmonton, as I grew up in the area so I thought it would be a good place to retire. That, obviously, did not happen. I Spent 15 years working for the City of Edmonton and decided I needed a small town vibe but after 6 months I got bored. I ended up at DLW just after moving here and have not left since. I enjoy my job and love the people that I work with. Outside of work, I enjoy reading (with a glass of Dangeous Liaison), redoing my yard and house over the past years, and hitting the sidewalks and trails with my pooch.

Kyle Harkin - Head Chef
Chef Kyle Harkin was born and raised in Penticton, where his passion for fresh, local ingredients and wine country hospitality first took root. Honing his craft at the acclaimed Naramata Inn, Nautical Nellie's Steak & Seafood House in Victoria, and most recently this winter at Kin & Folk in Penticton, he is excited to join the Dirty Laundry Winery team once again for his sixth patio season. Kyle creates bold, balanced dishes that celebrate local flavours and thoughtful wine pairings, delivering memorable dining experiences rooted in connection and place and will keep you coming back all season to enjoy his creations on DLW’s sun soaked patio!

Caleb Rousseau - Sous Chef
I've been working in kitchens since I was about 13 years old, I have always truly loved cooking! Most of the reason why I love to cook is because of my mom. She used to let me help her bake when I was young. I used to sit on the counter and she’d let mix the bowl and do little things to help. As soon as I could see over the stove I knew that I loved it because it was something I could do with her. I also just love the idea of making people happy with something that I’ve created. I have been at Dirty Laundry Winery for 2 seasons now, and we truly are a little kitchen family, I wouldn't have it any other way.
